ADHDMEDCALC / ORIGINAL REFERENCE
Version 1: historical migration verification
The medication data and calculation behavior were compared with the original ADHDMedCalc WordPress source and database on October 25, 2026. This verifies reproduction of the legacy calculator; it does not establish the clinical accuracy of its medication values.
| Check | Result |
|---|---|
| Original active medication records | 25; every medication field preserved |
| Independent database extractions | Full export matched a separate live query |
| Conversion comparisons | 35,000; zero differences |
| Input-dose checks | 1,400; zero differences |
| Independently worked examples | 29 passed |
| Direct original arithmetic checks | 34,695 matched; zero differences |
What was preserved
All original conversion factors, medication names, duration and peak-effect details, dose strengths, starting-dose and titration text, maximum-dose values, off-label limits, dosage ranges, crushing rules, and the special six-point Vyvanse mapping were retained.
Legacy limitations
The original Methylin Oral Solution conversion field contains text; its original numeric interpretation is preserved. Several medications have “n/a” conversion factors. Most such conversions return “Invalid,” but some paths involving Vyvanse produce a zero result or a maximum-dose warning. Those outputs are preserved and explicitly flagged as legacy limitations. No clinically validated conversion is implied.
Verification method and limits
The original PHP functions were run against the live medication records with isolated test inputs. PHP 7.4 was unavailable on the server. PHP 8.3 therefore used explicit compatibility handling for PHP 7.4 numeric-string coercion and division by zero, plus a test-only replacement of function exits so cases could run in a batch. A separate run without the arithmetic compatibility changes matched all 34,695 cases that execute on PHP 8.3. The remaining 305 cases raise non-numeric type errors in PHP 8.3 and were checked through the documented PHP 7.4 compatibility behavior.
Tests cover all 625 medication pairs at 56 dose values, including decimals, strength boundaries, maximum-dose boundaries, and the legacy 200 mg input cutoff. The interface also rejects empty, non-numeric, non-finite, and non-positive doses. It does not substitute new conversion factors or round an unavailable conversion to a different dose.
